Starfall

Abandoned soul, down on my knees
whispering prayers,
the past resurrected,
forever left wanting the memory of You

Perpetual twilight, starfall rising
stringing pearls across the velvet night
fleeting shadows drenched in ink
write the unspoken

(Do You feel my words?)

Your fingertips brushed against mine,
my gaze cannot be ripped away
from Your mystic eyes, breathlessly
suspended between heartbeats

Unnamed emotions coursing through
my veins spilling into Your soul,
the virtue of audacity as You understand
my unspoken

Salvation

Awakenings

The faded memory of fragments of a dream
that slipped away in the honesty of morning light,
the colour of promises scented with peonies
aching to hold on to their petals
and feel the sunshine once more, and
the way the light in Your eyes pushes
the greyness of the day away as Your smile
spreads warmth through my body
and I, I begin to bloom.

Cracks In the Light

Unspoken secrets, coveted, shared.
Time that bends like sunflowers
turning their faces towards rays of radiance.
Words of love trickling
from my lips…
Rain shatters on the ground
as I turn to you
and pull you into my embrace…
Love remembered.
Shadows of the forbidden torn away
like waves crashing on the shore,
darkness receding leaving, banished,
sparkling seashells in their wake.
The longing moon flirting with a
chandelier of stars as the peaceful feeling
of safety ensconces me as it emanates
from your arms.
Grains of stardust catch the moonfire
a whisper, a kiss,
until you and I become lost
fallen into the cracks in the light.

Moonlight Serenade

On the elegant edge of a serrated blade

releasing fear,

doubt,

confusion,

drawing down magic like a

stardust covered curtain.

Embracing the velvet soulful sound

of spinning stars

as an errant comet

slips by in the night like a mysterious lover.

Gracious wisps of stardust

float through the obsidian night

dipping their fingers through

the blackness leaving sequins in their wake.

Gliding fingers across a cosmic keyboard

the moon impatiently hangs in the sky,

her polished pearlescent gleam shimmers

unaware of her own reflection.

Patiently she waits,

looking for her suitor

to draw her into his embrace…

Her only understanding

of Safe.

Reminiscence

The wind brushes the ocean waves, the water cold,

unlike the warmth of steps once trodden.

Sea birds calling across the surf, evoking thoughts

of love letters, salt-water tangles, and pristine sand.

Somehow everything felt different.

Sandcastles washed away, pulled into the tide

as the seashells scraped the shore, the scent of jasmine

striking notes in the air, punctuating the passage

of time.

Fragments of a melody wind through heart-strings.

An ache in fingers that still reach to be held, the

need never greater yet hesitant to be fulfilled

as lips meant to be brushed with kisses whisper

words of lost prayer in reverent honour.

The first time was just as beautiful as the last.

The touch of smooth glass and a velvet ribbon

of hope falls freely unwinding emotion

that scratched deeper than the surface

and remains encapsulated in raindrops.

Memories worn in the reminiscence of old perfume bottles.

I Warned You

I warned You,

for me You were something precious,

something holy.

I warned You,

pick the fragments of my heart

out of the wasteland,

singe your fingers in the pieces

scattered among smoldering embers

and I would worship You.

I warned You, somewhere

between the sacred and profane

I would steal Your heart

in prayerful salvation.

I warned You

one touch,

one kiss, and

You would become my religion.

I warned You.
