I Warned You

I warned You,

for me You were something precious,

something holy.

I warned You,

pick the fragments of my heart

out of the wasteland,

singe your fingers in the pieces

scattered among smoldering embers

and I would worship You.

I warned You, somewhere

between the sacred and profane

I would steal Your heart

in prayerful salvation.

I warned You

one touch,

one kiss, and

You would become my religion.

I warned You.

Reminiscence

The wind brushes the ocean waves, the water cold,
unlike the warmth of steps once trodden.
Sea birds calling across the surf, evoking thoughts
of love letters, salt-water tangles, and pristine sand.

Somehow everything felt different.

Sandcastles washed away, pulled into the tide
as the seashells scraped the shore, the scent of jasmine
striking notes in the air, punctuating the passage
of time.

Fragments of a melody wind through heart-strings.

An ache in fingers that still reach to be held, the
need never greater yet hesitant to be fulfilled
as lips meant to be brushed with kisses whisper
words of lost prayer in reverent honour.

The first time was just as beautiful as the last.

The touch of smooth glass and a velvet ribbon
of hope falls freely unwinding emotion
that scratched deeper than the surface
and remains encapsulated in raindrops.

Memories worn in the reminiscence of old perfume bottles.

Puzzlebox Hearts

Darkness
drenched in black
unfolds like a starless night
leaving liberty to lie
in saturated emotion.
As a sea of prayers
formed from suffocating words
slowly drowns.

In longing, I wait.
Fingertips slipping
combinations
across puzzlebox hearts
in hopes a click
will unlock forever love.

Ensconce me.

Leap Of Faith

All I believe —

The words left

Carelessly unspoken

Wrapped around heartbeats

Like roses blooming through thorns

My left hand tangles with yours

The right strokes your cheek

Your eyes lock with mine
Our lips brush

Desire leaps

And I whisper:

“Take me home.”

Slips of Time

Unfettered reality

Forms…

And You, are mine…

The scattered scent of forever

Tangled between
Rose petals and heartbeats.
And You, are mine…
You… Are.. Mine…

Unmasked

Caught
between the strands of time…

Naked heartbeats
falling
in perfect counterpoint
to kisses
pulsing
from staccato eyes…
The moment
suspends
into abandonment
between the seconds
as our needful desires
peak…
Unmasked reality
folds into entangled stardust…

And You, are mine…
