Once Mine

Once Mine

Someday folded into love letters You once wrote me,
Your fingertips brushing against arcane words scribed against the chambers of my heart, Your silent kiss uncovering the tomes of desire eternity left carved in stardust. Passion rolls like waves through my mind, I forever Your Electra, the desire You reached for across the Heavens, across the darkness,
across the sea of time.
Reach for me again, pull me into your light.

Covet the unspoken secrets shared…

Return to me, reflect on those

Precious moments…

Once Ours,

Once Yours,

Once…

…Mine.

Torn Heart’s Desire

Green grass touching sand
clouds pouring towards the shoreline;
the abstract way seagulls
hang against the waves
and compliment the sun.
Hair spilling down her bare back
as she watches the frame
photograph it’s colours
into a monochrome memory
of days fragranced with lilac
in Eliot’s cruelest month.
Her heart torn and hanging
while the waves crash
and the seabirds sing
the intrinsic harmony

of a healing heart.

Carved Reminders

Trails of moonlight scatter across
Frosted night sky
The path of descending blossoms
As buds breathe into leaves
The trees coming to life
In anticipation of Summer days
Names carved into bark
Safely ensconced in a heart
A reminder of when love grew
Unhindered by time
Under a sea of expectant stars

Spring Resurrection

Softly shifting skies,
clouds masking the solitude
of the setting sun
flowing effortlessly in a pastel dream.
Shadows of leaves drifting
slowly down the lane,
weary trees brushing the cobblestones
with darkened light.
Night falls slowly.
Creatures of the night
beginning to stir, the dusk, their dawn
as the awakening stars whisper softly
to them the moon rising gracefully.
The sound of an owl cracks
through the cool air,
twigs rustle on the ground as
hedgehogs forage the dark emerald grass.

Our darkness, their light.

Ponderings (Before The Clouds)

Scattered sunbeams pierce through
clouds of grey, the clothes wave
a friendly hello on the line to
passers by as sheep graze gently
in verdant fields.
The sea hangs on the horizon
and I remember a time when it called
to me, before the clouds,
before the cities began to
encroach on the trees, before
the world became concrete.
The air feels lighter in the
bright afternoon, perhaps hope
hangs in that sky too. Leave
the brutalist bastions and
return to what was once a dream.

Ode To A Winter Night

Winter curls around the bare branches

of the trees, their burlesque dance

in the wind enticing the birds to

join them in a tango before the sun

descends. The beauty of the leafless

trees slowly turning to shadows across

the snow covered ground as the fir trees

swell and shake their needles in approval.

The air crisp and clean as the pristine

snow shivers it’s approval by twinkling

at the moon. Soft strains of music

filling the air, rising to the stars,

cracking the silence of the night.

And as hearts swell in joy, Christmas

arrives bringing new hope for fragile peace.

Winter Blossoms

Frigid air pours through the window
freezing the melodious notes that
hang like crystals into shimmering silence.
Prayerful roses slowly submit
to the hoarfrost and turn to ice.
The bare branches dance in the wind
as the world sleeps beneath it’s
swaying shadows.
Winter settles.
And yet, I don’t feel the chill
in the air as Your hand slips into mine.
The velvet calm purring against
my heart as we fall into step together.
Wandering across the sleeping landscape
as the trees waltz over our heads.
Winter blossoms.
