Find Me

Quivering hands.
Trembling spine.
Moth choked throat.
Cold fingertips.
Sealed lips.
Sanctioned desires.
Decayed echoes.
Forbidden tears.
Thrumming chest.
Shrinking silence.
Empty heartbeat.
Shattered soul.
Mysterious miracle.
Lost soul praying You — find me.

The Significance of a Pleurant

The Significance of a Pleurant

Pleurant: coming from pleurez meaning ‘to weep’ in French.

A pleurant symbolises solitude, spirituality, introspection, and sorrow.

For centuries pleurant figures have been carved into tombs and, in art in general, exist to show mourning so intense that it is also isolation – shutting away the world out of pain.

Historically, a person who suffered great loss, or felt the need for spiritual penance would go to the monks and make a request to become a pleurant. If granted, they would spend a year or more under the heavy cloths, completely cut off from the world.

No one talked to a pleurant or interacted with them (they basically treated them as if they were not in part of physical world, rather that they were in the spiritual world). Basic food would be left where the pleurant was able to access it as needed.

The pleurant would use their solitude to wander the grounds working through their pain, trying to find God and overcome the great emotional burden they were bearing.

And when the pleurant felt that their need was finished, the pleurant would simply remove the cloths and return to the regular world.

Wandering Heart

A wandering heart
slips through
my moonfire fingertips
under a jade sky
and I
am powerless
to do anything aside
from watching pieces of light
fall
from the grains of stardust
in it’s wake.

Seasons of Love

My love for You
blooms in exquisite splendour
like the flowers in the Spring,
radiates pulsing rapture
like the brilliant Summer sun,
soars through the air
like falling Autumn leaves
and settled in my heart
like gentle Winter roses.

Touch Starved

Skin quivering
aching
feeling like it is burning up
in feverish anticipation of Your caress.

Parched like the desert
scorching
until You extinguish the fire
with kisses falling from Your lips.

Starved in a purgatory
somewhere
between agony and exquisite bliss
a shaking only Your hands can feed.

So I will stay in this mist
waiting
for You reach out and quench me
like rain filling the ocean.

The Brilliant Ache of Roses

Lost in thoughts of Your
Fingertips
Removing the lace and
Thawing the December roses
Trapped gracefully in moments
My memory holds
Too dearly for adequate words.
I fold my hands and fall to my knees
Praying You stroke the petals
Of those exquisite shared moments
In Your thoughts too.

Liquid Oblivion

Injured spirit torn on a whim
slipping through pure moonlight
that fails to tantalize.
Striking notes on the piano
in the ebullient untamed cage
she was left forgotten in.
She leaves notes of seduction
so delicately written
with gentle irresistible words.
Poison arrow tearing softly spoken love
into disillusioned echoes
that quiver into liquid oblivion.
And so she waits in endless solitude
to ascend and rise in His love
feeling adored once more.
